Background and Experience
As founder of the Law Offices of Jason K.S. Porter, P.A., Mr. Porter has years of experience in a trial-oriented practice, providing outstanding criminal defense to clients facing DUI and other misdemeanor and felony charges, and representing individuals who have suffered personal injury through the negligence of others. He is also experienced in professional licensure defense before administrative agencies such as the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Agency for Healthcare Administration, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Attorney Jason Porter is also a member of the National Advocacy for DUI Defense (NAFDD). The NAFDD is a professional organization that distinguishes the country's top DUI attorneys. To be selected for membership to this organization requires the fulfillment of many different qualifications. Mr. Porter graduated cum laude from the Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both political science and Spanish. Before graduation, he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa fraternity for academic achievement and the nationally recognized Omicron Delta Kappa fraternity for leadership. He earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After law school, Mr. Porter moved to Jacksonville, where he accepted a position as Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting cases in Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties. As a prosecuting trial lawyer, he handled a wide range of cases, from misdemeanor DUI cases to the felony crime of murder. In our current private practice, Mr. Porter's experience as a prosecutor gives us an edge for the benefit of our clients. Mr. Porter is a member of the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bar Association, and the Florida Trial Lawyers Association.
