Background and Experience
Attorney AnnMarie Rizzo is a highly regarded defense attorney who is in-demand by both her clients and colleagues. When she is not achieving the best possible results for her clients, she can often be found at speaking engagements within the legal community or writing on the topic of DUI defense.
Ms. Rizzo’s career began in the State Attorneys Office where she completed an internship before working as an Assistant State Attorney. In 2008, she amended her focus to protecting the rights of the accused and accepted a position as a defense attorney. In this role, she has achieved tremendous success on behalf of clients facing DUI and various criminal charges.
Ms. Rizzo holds a bachelors degree from University of Florida and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law. She is currently perusing a graduate study certificate in forensic toxicology from her alma mater and is working toward a masters degree in forensic science from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
Ms. Rizzo is a member of numerous professional organizations including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National College of DUI Defense and the National Trial Lawyers Association. She is also a chair of the Sarasota County Young Lawyers Group and is a presiding judge with Teen Court. She is the past president and vice president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
