Background and Experience
Donald D. Cleveland was born in 1976 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated magna cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts in 1999 and received his Juris Doctorate as a cum laude graduate of Southern University Law Center in 2002. He is admitted to all state courts in Louisiana and the United States Western District Court in Louisiana.
From 2013-2015, Mr. Cleveland was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer. In 2014, Mr. Cleveland was recognized by the American Society of Legal Advocates as a Top 40 Lawyer under 40, and in 2014 and 2015 by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 under 40.
After earning his Juris Doctorate, Donald D. Cleveland spent a year as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Judge Frank McGee in Opelousas, Louisiana. Since that time he has spent his time as a criminal defense attorney serving clients in Lafayette Parish and the surrounding parishes. His objective has always been to provide quality criminal defense.
Donald D. Cleveland is a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the National College for DWI Defense, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers and Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also certified as a practitioner in standardized field sobriety testing.
