Background and Experience
Lizanne was born and raised in South Florida. After High School she attended college in Denver Colorado where she majored in Psychology. After college, Lizanne moved to Kentucky for a short time before attending Law School at the University of Cincinnati. Always passionate about criminal law and litigation, she was elected Chief Justice of the University’s Student Court. She was also selected as a Research Assistant to Christo Lassiter, her Criminal Law Professor. Shortly before graduation, she was accepted as an intern to the Ohio Supreme Court.
Upon graduation, Lizanne, having always loved the Northwest, moved to Washington and worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin, Clallam and Jefferson Counties. By choosing to work in smaller Jurisdictions, Lizanne rapidly acquired diverse experience as a criminal trial attorney. Lizanne, as a Prosecutor, handled everything from DUI and DV cases to Drug and Homicide cases.
Lizanne eventually decided to open her own practice and moved to the Seattle area. In the beginning she was recruited by successful DUI Attorneys, such as Chris Matson, Doug Cowen, Jon Fox, and George Bianchi to “ghost write” and cover hearings. Soon, through this exposure, she began to build a reputation as an attorney adept at handling complicated and difficult cases. These same Attorneys began referring cases to Lizanne and the Law Office of Elizabeth Padula steadily grew.
As her practice expanded, Lizanne accepted an invitation to join Goddard & Wetherall and created Goddard, Wetherall, Wonder, and Padula. Lizanne continued to build a reputation as an outstanding Criminal Defense Attorney and in 2002 and 2003 received distinction as a “Rising Star” by Law and Politics. Then in 2004 and 2005 she was voted a “Super Lawyer” by her peers, and this award was published by Law & Politics.. Lizanne soon added Personal Injury to her areas of practice. This was a natural expansion because, like criminal defense, this area of law revolves around investigation, negotiation and litigation.
Lizanne’s practice continued to expand and in 2007 she created Padula & Associates (P&A). P&A handles primarily criminal defense, personal injury and police misconduct cases. P&A has three attorneys and two support staff members. For police misconduct cases Lizanne teams up with Mary Anderson of Guidance to Justice and recently negotiated a large favorable settlement in Federal court.
Lizanne is known as a tenacious attorney who is unwilling to give up on her clients. She has successfully negotiated hundreds of cases, prevailed at numerous trials, and been repeatedly victorious in her appellate work.
