Mr. Bannister is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Federal Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, South Carolina Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Bannister achieved Criminal Trial Advocacy Certification from the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 2007. He has tried numerous felony cases in both Federal and State Courts, and holds notable experience in cases involving: Drugs and Narcotics, RICO, Internet Crimes, White Collar Crime, Security Fraud, Tax Evasion, Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Criminal Domestic Violence and DUI.

On a national level, Mr. Bannister has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for criminal defense from 2008 to present. Mr. Bannister was also included in South Carolina’s Super Lawyers for criminal defense from 2011 until present., Mr. Bannister has been selected by Best Lawyers in America for his work in DUI/DWI Defense. Recently named in the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 trial lawyers, Mr. Bannister is well respected by his peers.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Bannister has also been nominated by the South Carolina Chief Justice to serve on a task force to address docket control and the criminal rules of procedure. Governor Haley appointed Mr. Bannister to serve as a commissioner on the Commission on Indigent Defense. Finally, Mr. Bannister currently serves on the Board of Governors for the SC Bar and holds the city-wide elected position of Commissioner for Greenville Water.
