Mr. Barnes has built his practice and firm around the client. His focus has been and always will be to make sure that everyone who entrusts the Barnes Law Firm with their most difficult issues has the advice, information, and access to necessary to alleviate their stress and anxiety and that also leads to excellent case results. After graduating twice from the University of Tennessee, with a Bachelors degree and then from the UT College of Law, Mr. Barnes went to work for a nationally recognized trial lawyer to learn the skills and insights necessary for a top quality representation. After a few years his desire to be in the courtroom more led him to a position with one of the top DUI attorneys in the Southeast, where he began appearing in court on a nearly daily basis defending DUI and other criminal charges. Also during this period Mr. Barnes attended several of the nation’s top attorney training programs, including the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, GA, the National College of DUI Defense’s Summer Session at Harvard University, and the Gerry Spence Regional Seminar in Atlanta, GA, and the American Chemical Society’s Gas Chromatography Course in Chicago, IL.

In April of 2014, Mr. Barnes started the Barnes Law Firm, initially as a one person operation out of a single room and has since rapidly expanded into a thriving DUI, criminal defense, and civil trial practice. When not practicing law, Mr. Barnes is an avid Crossfit participant and distance runner.
