In 1998 Mr. Joye entered private practice in his own firm, R. Scott Joye, P. A. Ten years later that practice has evolved into Joye, Nappier, Risher & Hardin, LLC.

Scott is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, concentrating the majority of his practice to the area of criminal defense, with a special emphasis in D.U.I. Defense. He has successfully tried a variety of cases ranging from Noise Ordinances to Murder charges in Georgetown and Horry Counties, and across the PeeDee. In addition, Mr. Joye also handles personal injury cases as well as wrongful death cases, and has achieved high six-figure settlements. He has also handled Federal cases in South Carolina, Virginia and Ohio.
