In a growing number of jurisdictions across the State of Texas, prosecutors are simply showing the jury a number. If your lawyer doesn’t understand how those numbers are being calculated and what could possibly cause error; why ow could he ever get a jury to question that number? If your case is going to be centered around the number the State created, you need someone with the experience and training to tackle these scientific issues. When you are interviewing a lawyer ask them how many times they have replaced a coil on a chromatograph. Ask them how many times they have prepared a sample to be injected into the machine. Ask them how many times they have calibrated such a machine or what n-proponol is used for. If they don’t satisfy your answers on those questions it would be awful difficult for them to convince a jury that the state “expert” is wrong.
