Law Office of Richard C. Strong

With over eleven years experience representing clients in many forms of litigation, Richard C. Strong provides individuals and businesses quality, dedicated, and informed advocacy in a variety of litigation matters. Mr. Strong was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1975. He graduated with honors from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in May, 1997. Mr. Strong graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in December, 2001, where he was a member of the moot court, Journal of National Security Law, and Phi Delta Phi. After graduating and passing the Mississippi bar in April, 2002, Mr. Strong served as a law clerk to Mississippi Supreme Court Justice James W. Smith. After his clerkship, Mr. Strong worked in the civil litigation practice of the Ridgeland, Mississippi law firm Gore, Kilptarick, Purdie, Metz, and Adcock. Mr. Strong passed the Tennessee bar in 2003, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2004.

In April, 2004, he began serving as a Research and Writing Attorney at the Federal Defender’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee. He served in this position for over 5 years. His job at the Federal Defender’s Office exposed him to the many complexities of Federal criminal representation. In that position, he drafted over 200 appellate briefs in direct appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also assisted trial attorneys in the Federal Defender’s Office in preparing pre-trial motions by researching a myriad of issues related to federal criminal law, federal sentencing, and constitutional law.

Mr. Strong moved to the Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office for Davidson County in December 2009. Here he served as an Assistant Public Defender as a trial attorney on the General Sessions team and in Division I of the Criminal Court for Davidson County, Tennessee. In that position, Mr. Strong represented clients charge with a wide range of criminal matters. He left the Metro Public Defender’s Office, and opened the Law Office of Richard C. Strong in May, 2013.

Mr. Strong lives in Hendersonville, Tennessee with his wife and family.
