Background and Experience
A 1970 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, and a combat veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Fey graduated from Nevada School of Law in 1986, and was admitted to practice law first in the State of California, and afterwards, in the State of Nevada in 1987. He has practiced as a private attorney from 1987 through 1995, and then spent four years with the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office.
In 1999, Mr. Fey again entered private practice, and now limits his practice to the defense of drinking drivers. He is a member of the National College of DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a board member and past Vice-President of the Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice. Currently, he serves on the State Bar of Nevada’s CLE Publications Committee. In 2003, he completed training in DWI (DUI) Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing under a certified NHTSA instructor.
He is the author of “Legalized Sporting – Is the Writing on the Wall?” published in the Nevada Bar Journal, and is a contributor to the Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice newsletter, “Unreasonable Doubt.” He has defended numerous clients accused of criminal misconduct, and has completed a large number of felony jury trials, and many more misdemeanor trials.
