Russ Pietryga got his first introduction to criminal defense in 1995 while attended undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Pietryga knew that becoming a lawyer, specializing in criminal defense, was what he intended to do. In preparation for a career in criminal defense, Mr. Pietryga studied public law and government.

Michelle received her Juris Doctorate from the Suffolk University College of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Michelle was her class representative to the Student Bar Association as well as a board member of the National Lawyers Guild. She was a member of the American Bar Association Negotiation team at Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law while taking classes there as a visiting student.
Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, Michelle spent almost eight years prosecuting criminal cases for the largest municipality in the State of Utah.
Michelle was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2006 and is licensed to practice before all Utah State and Federal courts.

Philip Wormdahl is a passionate defense attorney who focuses his practice on the defense of those accused of DUI. Phil believes that all people accused of crimes are entitled to an aggressive defense and are innocent until proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prior to becoming a defense attorney, Phil spent time working as an intern at the Salt Lake City Prosecutor's Office. This experience gave him a behind-the-scenes look at how prosecutors approach cases and how they prepare for trial. Phil uses this unique perspective to his client's advantage.

Jason earned his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Utah. Immediately upon graduating from law school, Jason and Steve formed the private practice of Schatz & Anderson, focusing on criminal and DUI defense. Since entering private practice, Jason has continued to study DUI defense, having completed both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Student Course as well as the NHTSA SFST Instructor Course. Jason has also attended an Intoxilyzer Operator’s course and an Intoxilyzer Technician’s course to learn more about breath testing.
